This is an essential position. The incumbent performs complex administrative and clerical tasks to support the agency director and other administrative staff. Responsible for composing routine and non-routine correspondence; proofreading/reviewing other's work; preparing reports; and dealing with sensitive/confidential information. In addition, the incumbent conducts business and provides guidance with public, employees and other departments; maintains personnel records and reports; and serves as recording secretary to the local board. This position reports to the Director.

Considerable knowledge of office practice and procedures; agency policies and procedures; and agency software. Working knowledge of English grammar, and basic math. Skill in operating automated office equipment including p.c., fax, and copy machine. Ability to plan and organize own work; follow written and oral instructs sufficient to perform routine and new tasks with brief instructions; interact professionally with all levels of agency staff and public; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; prepare reports; interpret and follow oral and written policies; maintain harmonious working relations; organize and prioritize work and make independent work processing decisions. Employee must have a positive attitude and helpful demeanor, and exhibit a professional working relationship with staff, clients, and the community.
